WHAT IS THCV?
Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THVC) is known as the “mystery cannabinoid” and is only psychoactive when you ingest a lot of it. The “high” that you receive from THCV is fast-acting but short lived. This high will give you a clear head and have stimulating effects. It also suppresses appetite, unlike THC which gives the “munchies”. THCV is defined as being part of “the big 6”, according to medical researchers. THCV starts off as CBGVA, then is decarbed into THCV.
WHAT ABOUT RESEARCH?
A study found in the Journal of Cannabis Research, shows that THCV caused a therapeutic metabolic effect in their mice models. The case study also showed that THCV holds great value in pharmacotherapy. In a different study, the researchers found that THCV decreased pain and increased attentiveness in rats.
HOW DOES THCV WORK?
THCV has antioxidant properties and activates the CB2 receptor. It also acts on the cannabinoid receptors located within the skeletal system. When taken in low doses, THCV can provide a multitude of benefits without the head high. When take in higher doses, the high is euphoric.
